Tja - sieht nach einem tödlichen schlag für das HD-DVD Format aus

Blu-Ray hat den Kampf gewonnen.

Liegt in meinen Augen wohl hauptsächlich an der PS3, welche ja trotz enttäuschender Verkäufe im Vergleich zur Wii immernoch sehr häufig verkauft wurde und somit wahrscheinlich der bestlaufende Blu Ray Spieler ist.

Finde das eigentlich schade, da HD-DVD mir als das bessere Format erschien. Irgendwie fand ich BluRay aber trotzdem cooler, weil der Name besser klingt. Naja wenigstens kann man sich jetzt ein Geraet zulegen, ohne dass man sich fuehlt, als wenn man Lotto spielt.

ne, weil letztes mal als ich geschaut habe (siche rschon 1-1.5 Jahre her) waren die Blu-Ray Player und Rohlinge wesentlich teurer.

Mir grauts allerdings jetzt schon davor irgendwann mal BluRay Player zu haben die zwingend eine Internetverbindung voraussetzen um einen Film zu schauen... hab mal irgendwo gelesen dass solche Pläne und andere DRM-Grausamkeiten geplant sind.

Allerdings habe ich da doch große Hoffnung das sich die Hacker ordentlich dagegen zur wehr setzen werden.

Toshiba quits HD DVD business

TOKYO - Toshiba said Tuesday it will no longer develop, make or market HD DVD players and recorders, handing a victory to rival Blu-ray disc technology in the format battle for next-generation video.

"We concluded that a swift decision would be best," Toshiba President Atsutoshi Nishida told reporters at his company's Tokyo offices.
