The NGC Magazin UK made an interview with Lucas Arts about their future projects and plans:
Lucas Arts mentioned that they want to develop for the new Systems Xbox2 and Playstation3.
At the moment they are testing some Prototypes with the development kits and tools.
NGC UK was also asking if any possibility exist, that Lucas Arts will support the new handhelds from Sony and Nintendo.
"Lucas Arts wants to support the PSP and the Nintendo Ds. The abilities of the Nintendo Ds are great and the Developers have many ways to create new games", said Tom Sarris spokesman of Lucas Arts, " Lucas Arts have the chance to revive old classics." After the question "Which projects are planed?", they said they tested already a conversion of Monkey Island 3 for the NintendoDS. "But It is just an experiment phase" stressed Sarris, "Projects could be canceld. We were also discussing, if we shall convert The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2. LeChucks Revenge in the Style of The Curse Of Monkey Island on the PC. But it depends on severel factors. We thought this Games already died, but we got many fanmails about new Adventures. Monkey Island and other Adventures are the perfect genre for the Nintendo DS. Maybe we could realize our old plans and release them on the Nintendo DS After all we will see The Remakes of the first 3 Monkey Parts on Nintendos new handheld " he laughed. Wenn das wirklich rauskommt ist das Ding zu 100% gekauft.
und ich dachte schon, adventures wären für lucas arts endgültig kein thema mehr. hatte eher mit dutzenden von star wars titeln für die handelds gerechnet...

Super das zu hören. Wenn nur ein Monkey Teil für den PSP oder NDS kommt, dann kaufe ich mir das Handheld. Schön wäre auch auch eine PC Version mit der Grafikpracht des letzten Monkey Island.
Auf jeden fall werde ich das im Auge behalten.
Ganz neben bei , weiß einer was aud Sam and Max geworden ist? Kommt das noch?
Schön wäre wenn das für den NDS kommen würde. Sollte eine PC Version kommen die Spielerisch und technisch super ist und der Spielewitz kommt dort dann auch nicht zu kurz, dann ist das auch auf meiner Most Wanted List für die nächsten Jahre.

Für aufgebohrte Fassungen von Monkey Island 1&2 würde ich mir auch echt überlegen, nochmal ein Handheld anzuschaffen...
Genau das meinte ich. Ich dacht die basteln wieder dran, weil so viele Fans Mails an die geschrieben haben und es sich wünschten.
Mit Monkey Island geht es mir genau so. Ich hoffe es kommt nur für den NDS und oder für den PC, weil auf dem NDS würde es sich dank des Touchscreens und am PC wegen der Mouse besser spielen als auf dem PSP denke ich. Die Grafiklleistung des NDS würde sicher reichen um alle Teile wunderschön darzustellen.

Momentan arbeitet keiner an S&M2, Lucas Arts macht's wohl definitv nicht, aber ein andere Entwicklerstudio ist wohl im Gespräch mit dem Erfinder der Sam'n'Max Comics.
